Colour us happy

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜♥️

When we are staging a property, developers and owners alike want to ensure that we are appealing to the widest range of buyers possible. But that doesn’t mean making it void of all charm and personality. And it’s colour that plays an important role in the process of selling a home faster and for the best price.

So let’s talk about colour.

Our main goals when home staging are to highlight a home’s best features and inspire an emotional connection from buyers.

We look to ensure that we are appealing to the widest range of buyers possible. But that doesn’t mean making it void of all charm and personality.

Colour plays a key role in creating an appealing and welcoming atmosphere for potential buyers. It has the power to evoke certain emotions, influence mood, and even impact the perceived size and layout of a space. When staging a property, we always consider how we will use colour to ensure that the space presents itself in the best possible light.

Here in this luxury show home in Hertfordshire, we’ve used neutrals to create a light and airy bedroom of dreams.

A well-chosen palette can set the tone and atmosphere of a space - whether that’s creating a sense of warmth, comfort, and relaxation or inviting potential buyers to envision themselves living in the property. Yes, we often use a neutral palette as a base such as beige, grey, and soft whites because they provide a versatile and timeless backdrop and appeal to a broader audience. But we also understand that well-placed colour will help bring each room to life and make it memorable.

Colour stirs an emotional response.

The main goals of home staging are to highlight a home’s best features and inspire an emotional connection from buyers.

A key element in creating that powerful response is colour. It can evoke emotional and psychological responses from making you feel relaxed, energized or even stirring up your appetite.

While you may be aware that a neutral palette as a base is important for home staging because buyers need to be able to picture their own furniture and décor in its place, it’s important to understand that well-placed colour will help bring each room to life and make it more appealing.

It draws your eye to important features

Colour is also great way to lead a buyer’s attention to specific areas and highlight strong features in the home. Colourful fruit in a bowl on the worktops can highlight the beautiful tile backsplash. Pops of colourful books and décor accentuate built-in bookcases in the living room.

Technicolour photos

Listing photos look more appealing. We know that now, most buyers shop for homes online before deciding to view them in person. If the listing photos don’t grab their attention and appeal to them from the get-go, it’s easy to click away in less than a second and find another property within their parameters.

Pop Pop Pop

In this Studio Apartment in North London we used bright yellows to add a pop of colour.

Of course we also like to add a careful pop of colour. Whether that’s an cushion a throw to add texture, character and depth to a space without overwhelming potential buyers.

Colour can also be used strategically to manipulate the perception of space within a property. Light colours tend to make rooms feel larger and more open, while darker hues can create a sense of hygge and luxury. By using colour effectively, we are able to highlight the strengths of a property and downplay any potential weaknesses. For example, a small room can be transformed into a spacious and inviting area by choosing light, neutral colours and incorporating visually cohesive accents.

We also sometimes employ colour to create a sense of flow and continuity throughout a property. Using a consistent colour scheme across multiple rooms, we can create a cohesive and unified look that appeals to potential buyers.

This not only looks great but also makes it easier for buyers to imagine their own belongings and personal style within the space.
